| Continuing Education for Professional Engineers Registered in Oklahoma: Professional Engineers (PEs), registered in Oklahoma, are required, as of
July1, 2004, to obtain thirty (30) professional development hours (PDHs) every
two years (biennial period). Up to fifteen (15) PDHs may be carried over to the
next registration period.
The goal of this new legislation is to maintain,
improve or expand all
skills and knowledge obtained prior to registration or to acquire new and
relevant skills and knowledge which will maintain a PE's registration.
Continuing education courses offered through Oklahoma State
University's
college of Engineering, Architecture and technology and Continuing Education,
meet the continuing education requirements because they meet the criteria set
forth by the Oklahoma Board of Governors for Engineers and Land Surveyors. OSU
courses have a clear purpose or objective, are developed and delivered by
subject matter experts who have teaching and "real world" experience, are well
planned and organized, and are well documented.
